They can be our best friends, our children, our trusted companions. They are there to greet us, give love and comfort, make us laugh and they deserve the best care and love. I believe when you adopt a pet or it adopts you, that is a lifetime commitment. Take the best care you can of your pets. And for your cats and dogs, unless you plan to breed, please spay or neuter. You companion animal will be healthier and will not contribute to the monumental problem of homeless and uncared for animals. Every animal deserves a loving home.
We now have four rescued cats who joined the household about four years ago. Unfortunately one of our girls who was a tiny kitten when she was adopted soon had me running to the vet very frequently. We have to keep a careful eye on her but for the most part she is now happy, pain-free and a healthy weight. And does she ever have CATTITUDE!

Granted most cats and dogs get along just fine on regular food but imagine how healthy they could be with really high quality food. You could possibly add many healthier years to their lives. More years to have together. I wish I had known this years ago and perhaps my other beloved companions would have been with me longer. We did pretty well with 15 to over 20 years together but the last few years I was running a geriatric ward. And to be honest I could not afford the best food but they got the best I could afford. Whatever you can afford, do the best you can for your friend. Get educated. It makes a huge difference.
